WHAT ARE VALUE CYCLE GRANTS
VALUE CYCLE GRANTS (VCG) are funds that Epistematica makes available to teachers and university researchers, Doctors and graduates to finance projects in specific research areas.
Our objective is to supply researchers and university students the means to perform research on innovative market driven ideas. The result of these research projects can then be re-employed in the productive cycle of the company.
This from one side allows the introduction of innovation on the market that benefits both the field of application and the competitive development of the company; on the other side allows young graduates a speedier insertion into the world of work in a satisfying way, allowing the possibility of concrete applications of their studies.

REQUIREMENTS
The project must involve one of the themes defined by the 7th European Framework Programme for technological development. (7PQ).
Financing is supplied to individuals and not their companies or universities.
The research projects can be presented individually or from a team of researchers (maximum 5 people), that undertake there own research together with a coordinator. The length of the project can be from 3 months to 1 year.
T he researchers cannot be involved in more than one VCG at the same time. Therefore before requesting funds for a new project the coordinators and researchers must make sure that the VCG previously undertaken is formally closed.

RESEARCHERS, PRINCIPAL RESEARCHERS AND COORDINATORS OF THE PROJECT
Researchers are all employed in projects that receive GRANTS. Some teams must designate a principle researcher and a coordinator of the project. These people can be the same however a team that consists of less than two people will be respectively the project responsible and the reference for communication with Epistematica.
To ease communication and administration with Epistematica the project coordinator will correspond with Epistematica. Coordinators will receive a letter that assigns the GRANT in the name of all the researchers and will be responsible for distributing the funds as needed and to send to the company, at defined times the supplied forms, scientific and economic reports on the progress of the project and on the use of the funds.

FUNDS
The assigned funds to each project can cover travel costs but not the supply of consumables, PC, peripherals and equipment in general. Requests for buying equipment of modest cost can be made if they are essential for the project. EPISTEMATICA reserves the right to evaluate each request individually.
Funds supplied cannot be used to cover institutional expenses.
GRANTS normally vary from 1,200 Euro for projects of three months and involve only 2 or 3 researchers up to 12,000 Euro for projects of one year and groups of researchers up to a maximum of five people.
The delivery of funds, with the exception of the first trance and for projects of only three months duration will be sent after the reception by EPISTEMATICA of the report on results obtained during the previous three months. After a brief examination of the report the residual funds will be sent.
GRANTS are made only in Euro.

REPORTING
Funds will be sent at the start of each three month phase after the coordinator of the project has sent the scientific and economic report and the acceptance by EPISTEMATICA.
I n each case the final scientific and economic report is necessary or the closing of the GRANT and completion of the project. They must be sent within one month from the end of the project. The modules for the report will be supplied at the agreement of the grants. The documentation sent to EPISTEMATICA on different modules will not be considered.
