	SWIKI Design and development of a Semantic Wiki prototype Epistematica Srl DEI - Electronics and Automation Department of the Politecnico di Milano Status: in progress

Epistematica Srl has been awarded a project financed by the Camera di Commercio of Milan and Finlombarda in the field of "voucher for the development of activity of Consultancy, Research, Verification and Assistance", intended to improve the innovation of SME's in Lombardia.

The project foresees the study and prototype development of an application based on Wiki for the sharing of information in the area of intranet and Internet. There exists already on the market diverse products that enter in the category of Semantic Wiki, the majority of these are developed with functionality that is not usable for professional employment.

The project has the objective to define technical specifications, of security and functionality of a Wiki for professional use that employs semantic technology (Ontology and software reasoner), to be used for the management of editorial content.

The project foresees in addition the employment of an environment for shared working based on Semantic MediaWiki from Wikimedia.
