THE QUERIES AESTHETICS
Describe and interrogate our knowledge
by Chiara Carlino and Luca Severini
DOI 2006: 10.1683/ab0005

In what sense does an ontolgy describe a reality? What is needed so that models adequately respect the dominium of knowledge in question? But overall this what is needed to model and interrogate to extract useful knowledge? These are the questions which this study intends to proposes answers.

We look first of all to supply to the reader intelligent instruments and models useful for a better understanding of the type of models of knowledge offered by the technology OWL and its management by an automatic reasoner. Following this we analyse the queries that it is possible to propose to a base of knowledge formalised in this way, following as principle inspiration the idea that a formula (because these are queries expressed in a formal language) is much more efficient and significant as well as more elegant, that is simple and creative at the same time, taking the idea of Poincare - famous believer in the esthetical side of science - for who "Mathematics is the art of giving the same name to different things", sp that implies inventing and simplifying in even amounts.
